Frasers Aerospace to debut two products at Business Jet Interiors World Expo 2013

Frasers Aerospace has revealed two products it plans to showcase to the corporate jet sector at the free-to-attend Business Jet Interiors World Expo, which will be held together with Business Airport World Expo on 19-21 March 2013 at London Farnborough Airport in the UK. The Aeroglas for Textiles coating is designed to protect aircraft textiles from liquid spills; while Bacoban for Aerospace is a spray used to clean cabin surfaces, which Frasers Aerospace says keeps the surface free from bacteria and pathogens for 10 days.

Aeroglas for Textiles is the result of two years of development and testing by Frasers Aerospace in partnership with aircraft textile manufacturer Axminster. Frasers Aerospace says the nano technology has a lifespan after application of at least five years. Burn-tested to EASA and FAA requirements as a coating for aircraft carpets, Aeroglas for Textiles is designed to render the carpet hydrophobic (repelling water) and oleophobic (repelling oil). The company says that its product prevents liquids from penetrating the carpet fibres, so spillages can easily be blotted and all the spillage is recoverable, leaving a totally unmarked carpet. The pure glass (Si02) water-based coating is 150NM thick (400 times thinner than a human hair) and is applied by trigger-spraying directly onto the carpet. It does not contain silicone or PTFE. The coating also resists acids, alkali and solvents. After prolonged testing to inflight status, Frasers Aerospace is now offering this first member of its Aeroglas family on general sale and release to the corporate market.

Meanwhile, Bacoban is being introduced to the corporate and private aviation sector having already flown in commercial aircraft. Designed not only to sterilise surfaces, fixtures and fittings upon application, Frasers Aerospace says Bacoban offers ongoing protection from bacteria and pathogens for 10 days, and is approved for use on aircraft, exceeding AMS 1451B and AMS 1452B specifications. It is available in 500ml trigger-spray bottles and dries to create a non-sticky nano layer (<50NM). Between applications, coated surfaces can be cleaned with water. Frasers Aerospace says the product kills pathogens including HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes, influenza, H5N1 (avian flu), H1N1 (swine flu) and BVDV (bovine diarrhoea virus); bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia faecalis; and fungi such as Aspergilus niger and Candida albicans.

Frasers Aerospace will present its products on stand 9016.
