1,000 recruits sought for Global 7000 interior completion facility

Bombardier has inaugurated the facility in Montréal, Canada, where its Global 7000 interiors will be completed. Over the next 18 months the OEM intends to recruit around 1,000 people to carry out this work. The Centre of Excellence is being established with an investment of US$65m.

“We are so proud that this meticulous work on the most advanced business jet in the world is being done in Montréal,” said Alain Bellemare, president and CEO at Bombardier. “We have world-class expertise right here, and we want to reach out to that skilled workforce to help us continue shaping the future of business aviation.”

The Global 7000 is scheduled to enter service in the second half of 2018. Four out of five test vehicles are now flying. Highlights of the aircraft include its four living spaces, and wings designed to ensure an exceptionally smooth flight.

Around 5,500 people are employed by Bombardier Business Aircraft in the Greater Montréal area. Dorval is home to the business unit’s headquarters, a facility for the interior completion and delivery of Global jets, and one for building Challenger jets.
