EAD Aerospace extends EASA STCs for Ka-band projects

The final EASA STC has been awarded to EAD Aerospace for its Inmarsat GX fuselage satcom antenna installation for the Airbus A319ceo, A32 ceo and neo, and A321ceo and neo types.

The technology has already been installed on one A319; this STC covers the entire family of A320 aircraft, excepting the A318. The A319neo will also be covered once the EASA Type Certificate Data Sheets (TCDS) of the aircraft is known.

This STC uses the latest generation of EAD Aerospace Satcom Universal Mounting System (SUMS). Currently, close to 100 SUMS-installed aircraft are flying, giving passengers the ability to connect via high bandwidth worldwide.

SUMS have been installed and certified on A319, A330, A340, B777-200 and B777-300 and is now fully installable on A320, and A321ceo and neo aircraft.

GX Aviation offers high-speed connectivity worldwide powered by the Global Xpress (GX) global Ka-band satellite network, owned and managed by Inmarsat.
