CTT Systems’ anti-fuselage-condensation products will be offered for optional line-fit on Airbus’s A320 family aircraft, as part of the optional Moisture Control System (DAGS). The first aircraft delivery slot is scheduled for 2023.
CTT is a Tier 1 supplier to Airbus. DAGS moisture control will be certified for and in parallel with the A321XLR, the newest A320 family aircraft, with extended range capabilities. CTT is targeting first serial product deliveries to Airbus in 2022.
“We are pleased that Airbus has selected CTT as Tier 1 supplier of anti-condensation products for the A320 family programme,” said Torbjörn Johansson, CEO at CTT. “This is a breakthrough for our active moisture control technology in the narrow-body market. We look forward to optimising our condensation prevention system together with Airbus, to provide the required additional protection in parallel with passive means. In selecting the DAGS anti-condensation system, Airbus customers not only gain additional protection from unwanted moisture, but also take another step towards their commitment to continuously cut fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions.”
The CTT anti-condensation system is designed to keep the crown area dry, remove trapped water in blankets, and reduce the risk of unwanted excess weight from water accumulation. CTT says lowered excess weight reduces block fuel consumption and cuts carbon dioxide emissions, while additional cost savings result from reducing moisture-related damage to electrical components and equipment, the need to repair/replace blankets and downtime stemming from electrical failures.
