Bongiovi’s speakerless cabin audio system has been installed on an Embraer 135 for the first time, by C&L Aviation Services (C&L). The system is designed to offer immersive, high-fidelity audio that is consistent throughout the cabin. It relies on transducers attached to the backside of interior panels, coupled with Bongiovi’s patented Digital Power Station (DPS) signal processing technology.
“C&L are experts in modifying and improving regional aircraft like the ERJ 135/145, making them the ideal choice for a project like this one,” said Rob Hamelink, managing partner at Bongiovi Aviation. “C&L has been a great partner of ours for several years and we look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
C&L provides interior refurbishment, engineering and exterior paint services to convert regional jets such as CRJ and ERJ aircraft from standard airliner configuration to luxurious aircraft with up to 30 seats. This can include the installation of LED lighting, wi-fi, avionics upgrades and electrical outlets, providing new seat designs, and upgrading aspects such as interior panels and lavatories.
“C&L is always excited to be able to provide solutions like the Bongiovi system to meet the specialised needs of our customers,” said Calvin Tuitt, senior vice president of business development, MRO, at C&L. “Due to our regional and corporate aircraft experience, C&L is a logical choice to complete projects like this one.”
