West Star Aviation’s team in Chattanooga, Tennessee, completed its first Embraer Lineage paint project.
The Chattanooga site is one of West Star Aviation’s four full-service facilities and, as recently announced, is to be expanded to add even more space for MRO work.
Of the four full-service locations, Chattanooga has the newest and largest paint facility at 48,000ft² (4,459m²), with the ability to accommodate larger aircraft. The aircraft was received on 30 October 2021 and delivered back to the customer on 4 December 2021.
“We were excited to be able to offer our state-of-the-art paint facility to the customer and complete their requested paint project within a short timeframe, while also exceeding their expectations with the final delivery,” said Jeremy Turnbough, paint programme manager at the site.
The Chattanooga location offers paint, maintenance, engine, interior and avionics repair services.
In other news, West Star Aviation developed and certified an STC for the installation of Future Air Navigation System (FANS) equipment for Citation X aircraft in partnership with Honeywell. The company recently completed its first installation at West Star’s site in East Alton, Illinois.
While the initial certification installation occurred at the East Alton location, the STC is available at any of the four full-service locations – the Chattanooga and East Alton sites, plus locations in Grand Junction (Colorado) and Perryville (Missouri). The downtime for a typical installation is estimated at four weeks.
