Having completed specialised training regarding aviation maintenance, safety and FAA rules, all four of West Star Aviation’s full-service locations, and all five of its satellite facilities, have been awarded the 2021 FAA Diamond Award of Excellence.
The full-service locations are in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Grand Junction, Colorado; Perryville, Missouri; and East Alton, Illinois. The satellite facilities are in Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Aspen, Colorado.
This is the first year that the locations in East Alton, Grand Junction, Chattanooga, Aspen, Chicago, Houston and Minneapolis have been awarded this honour. The full-service location in Perryville has been awarded several years in a row, and it’s the third year of accomplishment in a row for the Denver satellite site.
West Star said it was proud to be recognised for its continued commitment to aviation maintenance excellence. The 12-month programme requires 100% participation from all eligible technicians, who provide dedicated maintenance to customers along with maintaining a structured safety training programme. Each team member (978) completed the year-long programme, qualifying the entire enterprise. It is the first time the company has received the Diamond Award at all nine locations.
“This award is the representation of the hard work and dedication from our team of technicians that make it possible to be recognised for the reputation of excellence and expertise we continue to build upon here at West Star,” said Steve Goede, general manager at the Chattanooga facility.
“Our teams have worked diligently all year to accomplish this ambitious goal and we are honoured that our technicians have been recognised for all their efforts and continued commitment to ongoing training and safety measures for our customers,” said Dave Krogman, general manager at Grand Junction.
“We are honoured yet again to be awarded this annual achievement,” said Kyle French, general manager of the Perryville site. “Our teams continue to succeed in learning and growing while providing the best service to our customers.”
“The success of West Star has a direct link to our team members who continue to build on their skills and expertise from programmes like these, all while benefiting our customers,” said Scott Sweeney, general manager at East Alton.
“Our team of technicians consistently exceed customer expectations and put in the hard work and dedication to claim these prestigious awards,” said Sharon Klose, director of satellites/MRT and engines. “This level of FAA AMT training is a major accomplishment, specifically for multiple locations.”
