More than 500 high school and college interns spent their summer doing an internship at Textron Aviation, gaining knowledge about the aviation industry, taking on career-focused assignments, and learning about the many professional opportunities available to them in aviation.
Among the summer interns were more than 150 high school students, most from the Wichita (Kansas) area, who spent six weeks at the company’s headquarters as part of their paid internship. The students were assigned to business functions such as engineering, communications, information technology, parts and distribution, customer support, product support, marketing, human resources, sales operations and supply chain. Each role gave them a chance to work closely with a mentor, learn additional skills, and gain understanding about how to thrive in their potential careers.
College internships lasted two months, giving more than 350 students from schools across the USA an opportunity to take on important assignments, network with people across multiple job functions, and prove themselves in their fields of expertise.
Applications for 2024 internships will open in January.
