Agnès Guiu Design presents the Bianconero B747-800 interior design.
Agnès Guiu, senior aircraft interior designer at Agnès Guiu Design, created this B747-800 interior design after being contacted directly in March 2024 by a potential client based in China. Guiu shares that the individual specified this aircraft type and had “extremely high expectations in terms of luxury and style”.
“After a few exchanges, I found out he would use the aircraft for two purposes: business travel with the possibility of inviting top-level guests on board, and also family trips,” says Guiu.
Excited and challenged by the brief, Guiu created two different proposals. One of these was immediately accepted, and she was permitted to show the second here.
There were two areas of main interest for the client – the master bedroom and the main lounge. The master bedroom had to look like a spacious suite or private apartment, with a private entrance being a specific request. The bedroom features a bed with a canopy and surrounding curtains; two double-place divans; a vanity corner for the client’s wife; a “see-through” gym room for the client; and a wide corridor leading to the washroom with wide wardrobes for both.
The other priority area, the main lounge, had to be “extra-large and extremely welcoming”, Guiu shares. It features meridienne-style sofas; independent ottomans; a long dining/conference table that can accommodate six or eight guests; and a face-to-face seating area for more private talks or work.
“The big challenge of the brief was that the general look should be modern, without overwhelming decoration,” explains Guiu. “Each piece had to be exceptional and the latest technologies should also be integrated, but discreetly.”
“I feel extremely privileged and proud to do a job that brings together creativity, an open mind, a love for team work and the exchange of ideas to result in something exceptional and charismatic,” says Guiu.
Key features of the cabin include:
Artwork
The cabin features contemporary artworks to be supplied by the client, including a piece by English artist Genevieve Benett. These were positioned carefully to enhance a “subtle feeling of culture and refinement”, says Guiu.
Hotel chic
For the main lounge, the brief was to encapsulate the spirit of famous hotel brands such as the Savoy, Shangri-la, Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental.
Colour palette
Details include black crystal lamps and backlit Italian white marble – and the contrast of these elements inspired the concept’s name, Bianconero.
