Dave Girard, technical sales manager at West Star Aviation, has received the FAA’s Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award in recognition of his 50 years as a mechanic.
“I am humbled to have received this award from the FAA,” said Girard. “I started in this business as a teenager and now I work with an excellent group of experienced aviation professionals providing knowledge and building dynamic relationships for a world-class MRO.”
Girard began his career at Boeing and then enlisted in the US Air Force, serving as a Phantom Staff Sergeant in the Vietnam War. He joined Cessna in 1972, specializing in supporting Conquest deliveries, moving to a sales position at West Star Aviation in 1981. After five years away from the company, Girard rejoined West Star Aviation in 2001 at its site in Grand Junction, Colorado, working up to his current role, technical sales manager for Textron/Embraer aircraft.
