Airbus Helicopters is taking its heavy twin H215 helicopter, part of the Super Puma family, on a two-week demo tour of China. The itinerary, which will see the H215 cover more than 2,000km, includes firefighting demonstrations.
“The H215 will easily complement the current fleet of nearly 40 Super Puma aircraft already performing a wide range of missions in China, from oil and gas operations to aerial work to VIP transportation,” said Vincent Dufour, vice president, commercial, Airbus Helicopters China.
“This highly robust and versatile rotorcraft provides excellent performance and will be a real asset for the country as the demand for helicopters to protect its citizens and natural landscapes continues to increase.”
In terms of annual bookings, China became the manufacturer’s largest civil market in 2016. Airbus Helicopters is building a final assembly line for the H135 in Qingdao.
