Gogo Business Aviation and Rockwell Collins are working together to make the Airshow moving map available to Gogo’s ATG customers – without them having to install additional hardware.
In most cases, users simply activate an account with Rockwell Collins and download the app. It is compatible with aircraft ranging from turboprops to large VVIP aircraft.
The app is optimized for iOS and Android phones and tablets. Key features include interactive HD satellite 3D maps; gesture-based roaming, zooming and navigation; and a points of interest pop-up panel. Display settings and layers can be customized by the user – portrait or landscape modes are possible, and viewpoint options include cockpit, pilot head-up display and window seats.
