Jet Aviation’s facilities in Basel, Switzerland, and St Louis, Missouri, are now offering a cockpit communications upgrade that will enable older Challenger 605s and 300s to meet upcoming FAA requirements for ADS-B.
The company says the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Advanced upgrade is the only one compatible with systems in these aircraft – it is standard on newer Challenger 605s and 300s.
The facilities have already completed Pro Line 21 Advanced installations. “Our goal is to ensure the highest safety standards for our customers, and the Pro Line 21 upgrade offers value-adding capabilities that comply with the latest navigation mandates,” said Erik Vandegrift, director, maintenance operations for Bombardier aircraft at Jet Aviation in Basel.
Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics system facilitates the installation of FANS, used to improve communications between the aircraft and air traffic control when flying over oceans or in remote airspace.
