Ka-band high-speed internet is now available for retrofit on all Bombardier Global aircraft following certification by EASA. The wi-fi system can be installed on in-service Global aircraft at Bombardier service centers, and is available as an option on new Global types. It means passengers can surf the internet, stream media and hold video conferences.
“We are dedicated to setting new standards in customer care and maximizing customers’ cabin experience,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, vice president and general manager, customer experience. “Ka-band is the latest example of Bombardier bringing brand new technologies, something that you would have found only for installation in forward-fit aircraft in the past, back to its fleet.”
The latest expansion to the Bombardier service center network included the addition of more Customer Response Team trucks in the USA, and new facilities in Tianjin, China, and Biggin Hill, UK. The network supports Learjet, Challenger and Global types and is linked to a 24/7 Customer Response Centre and Customer Support Team.
Since 2000, more than 750 Global jets have been delivered.
