Rockwell Collins’s Venue CMS and HD IFE system will now be retrofitted as standard on all Flying Colours Corp’s CRJ ExecLiner conversions.
These projects involve converting the Bombardier CRJ200 into a VIP format. The first installation has already taken place at the company’s headquarters in Peterborough, Canada, on an aircraft nearing completion.
Flying Colours Corp says the system enhances digital audio throughout the cabin, and can display HD movies and other high-resolution content, including Rockwell Collins’s Airshow 3D moving map.
A further five ExecLiners are currently inbound to the Peterborough workshops. Flying Colours Corp also plans to set up a Venue demo unit in the client design room at the Peterborough facility. This will enable aircraft owners, of all model types, to evaluate the system for potential installation.
“With more than 25 CRJ conversions completed we wanted to upgrade our CMS offering to ensure that we offer customers modern intuitive technology that also supports improved functionality,” said Eric Gillespie, executive vice president of Flying Colours Corp. “From a passenger’s perspective it provides a whole lot more in terms of flexibility, reliability and innovation. This is why we are now incorporating it as standard.”
