Starling Aerospace has upgraded and certified the interior of the latest addition to charter operator Oryx Jet’s fleet, a B737-500. The project scope included creating a new look for the lavatories, galleys, sidewalls and other key focal points including the window frames, oxygen panels, overhead bin seat number strips and cocktail holders.
Starling Aerospace used its in-house aqua transfer printing facility to create a walnut wood-look effect for the soft-close toilet seat, assist handles, and amenity towel strips above the vanity basin and around the toilet. Ultraleather was then used to cover the back and sidewalls in the lavatory. Smokey mirrors and decorative stone lookalike flooring (approved by Starling Aerospace) were also implemented in this area.
For design continuity, Starling Aerospace used a combination of white faux leather for the sidewalls and walnut wood effect for the window frames, oxygen panels, seat rows, armrest cocktail tables and magazine holders. This wood look effect was achieved with aqua transfer printing.
Starling Aerospace also overhauled the galleys, re-covering them with new Tedlar and paint and re-anodizing the turn buttons. The upgrade included changing the whole face of the G7 gallery using the same aqua transfer printing wood effect, even down to the assist handles.
