In a brief interruption to its flight test program, the first PC-24 prototype was part of the outdoor display at EBACE 2016 on May 24, 2016. Pilatus also presented the aircraft’s new interior design at the event, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 24-26, 2016. The interior design has now been brought up to series production standard.
Hand in hand with Pilatus, Designworks, a BMW Group Company, has created six color concepts for the PC-24, each named after a well-known ski resort. The color schemes were inspired by the natural environment at each location, and have been chosen to convey a feeling of luxury and security.
The PC-24 cabin has an entirely flat floor and can be divided into separate zones, for example, to allow simultaneous use for work or relaxation. The seats can be adjusted individually, and an IFE system is provided. The aircraft is equipped with a cargo door as standard. A 1:1 walk-in model of the PC-24, featuring the Vail cabin design, was on display at Pilatus’s stand.
“Together, the two prototypes have completed 300 flights and more than 500 hours in Switzerland, Spain, Scotland and Iceland,” said Oscar J. Schwenk, chairman of the board of directors at Pilatus. “In the past few months we have conducted numerous important tests to explore the flight envelope and observe how the aircraft handles in natural icing conditions. The results are extremely positive and confirm that the PC-24 will be a superb aircraft in line with the high standards of our Pilatus Class – exactly as our customers expect.”
