Textron Aviation has revealed details regarding the development of its clean-sheet single-engine turboprop aircraft (SETP). The company also announced at EBACE (held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 24-26, 2016) that letters of intent are being accepted for the aircraft.
The SETP will be designed to have cruise speeds of up to 285kts and a full fuel payload of 1,100 lb. The aircraft will have a planned range of 1,600 nautical miles at high-speed cruise with one pilot and four passengers. The program is targeting first flight in 2018.
The SETP’s flat-floor cabin is designed to be the largest in its segment and to enable easy conversion between passenger and cargo configurations. The aircraft will feature a 53in-wide aft cargo door.
Along with room for one pilot, the SETP will seat up to eight passengers, and will have a digital pressurization system maintaining a 6,130ft cabin altitude at a service ceiling of 31,000ft. The aircraft will feature six individual reclining seats and an optional belted lavatory seat with pocket door enclosure in the back of the cabin, as well as interior LED lighting, a forward refreshment cabinet and a baggage compartment that is accessible in flight within the pressurized cabin.
Textron Aviation has developed a cabin prototype, which it is showcasing to customers at its headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, and plans to display at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016 (to be held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on July 25-31, 2016).
