Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the opening of its first office in Canada in Abbotsford, British Columbia. In 2014, Marshall purchased a 4,343ft² building, also in Abbotsford, to accommodate up to 35 personnel, the majority of which are engineers and technical staff. The Abbotsford office has subsequently become Marshall’s headquarters in Canada.
“The provision of in-country support is very much a Marshall strength, and we have a proven track record of collaborating with military and commercial organizations to deliver quantifiable end-user benefits,” said Steve Fitz-Gerald, CEO of Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group.
Marshall holds various airworthiness accreditations, granted by a variety of military and commercial regulatory authorities, aerospace companies and defense organizations, including Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND). As well as providing local technical and engineering support, the two offices in Canada have access to the skills and resources in Cambridge, UK, where Marshall employs more than 2,000 personnel.
Of particular relevance to Marshall’s presence in Canada is the company’s experience with the Hercules C-130 platform. The company has worked on more than 300 C-130s, for 52 customers in 33 countries.
“This year also marks our 50th anniversary of supporting the UK’s Royal Air Force’s C-130 fleet with the provision of engineering services and capabilities that we’re now exporting, and which have been recognized by our receipt of a 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade,” said Fitz-Gerald.
