Following an in-depth audit conducted by third-party International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) accredited auditors, Pentastar Aviation and Pentastar Aviation Charter have renewed their Stage 2 IS-BAO registration. Pentastar’s operations have been IS-BAO-registered since April 2010.
IS-BAO is based on the International Civil Aviation Organizations (ICAO) International Standards and Recommended Practices. “IS-BAO is a worldwide standard developed by the industry for the benefit of the industry and managed by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC),” said Mike Baker, vice president of safety and compliance at Pentastar Aviation.
“Pentastar participates in this voluntary biennial audit to ensure our continuous adherence to industry best practices and see to it that our processes and operations are continuously monitored and improved.”
Achievement of Stage 2 IS-BAO is demonstrated in part by evidence of a robust and fully implemented safety management system and the successful completion of an in-depth safety audit every 24 months. Upon the completion of Pentastar’s renewal audit, the IS-BAO accredited lead auditor stated, “Pentastar Aviation has a well-developed SMS in place. Safety promotion is well accomplished throughout the entire organization.” IBAC has subsequently renewed the registration through April 2018.
“Our operations revolve around the ongoing adoption and continuous implementation of the highest safety standards,” said Greg Schmidt, Pentastar Aviation’s president and CEO. “The renewal of our Stage 2 IS-BAO Registration reflects our steadfast commitment to the safety of our customers and employees and is at the core of our strategic objectives.”
In addition to the IS-BAO Stage 2 Registration, Pentastar Aviation Charter holds a Wyvern Wingman designation and ARG/US Platinum rating.
