West Star Aviation has its first 8C inspection on a Bombardier Global Express in the works at its facility in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA. 8C is an 120-month interval inspection that requires specialized tooling to perform. The team will also perform a landing gear (restoration) inspection, the 1C/2C/4C inspection and other hourly inspections. The aircraft will be the first Global Express to be painted in the new 141,000ft² paint facility at the site.
“West Star was pleased to be the successful bidder for this work, beating out US and international maintenance competitors – and even the OEM,” said Chad Adams, Bombardier Global program manager at the Grand Junction facility.
The new paint facility has two bays – one for strip, sand and priming; the other is a downdraft bay. Each is 120ft wide and accommodates aircraft as large as a Bombardier Global 7000 or a Gulfstream G650.
