An unusual refurbished Gulfstream V, branded Sexyjet, has been added to Metropolitan Aviation’s worldwide air carrier certificate. It will be available for international and domestic charter reservations from November 2015.
The Gulfstream V features a 1,669ft³ cabin with partitioned working and sleeping compartments, a lavatory and galley. The multimillion-dollar interior and exterior refurbishment was recently completed by Duncan Aviation in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA.
Duncan’s technicians spent more than 3,000 man-hours taking the paint design from paper to production. The paints used include Sherwin Williams’ satin black base with satin clear coat and Axalta Chromaulion’s ‘color changing’ base coat, in a color called Perfect Jade. “This unique and stylish paint scheme will unquestionably make it one of the most eye-catching aircraft in the world,” said George Bajo, a technical sales representative at Duncan Aviation.
The owner of Sexyjet, US entrepreneur Mark Bonfigli, called on his automotive marketing background to design the two-tone pearlized paint scheme. The interior has also been designed to offer excitement and personality. “We wanted to give Sexyjet its own super cool personality,” said Bonfigli. “This Gulfstream V will turn heads and make everyone smile when they see it.”
Bonfigli will travel on the aircraft with his wife Marisa and their guests to compete in professional beach tennis tournaments. The Bonfiglis are world-ranked beach tennis players, and the driving force behind Sexy Beach Tennis, which offers a line of paddles, clothing and accessories for the sport.
“There is no better way for 14 people to get from point A to point B enjoying a comfortable flight with the highest level of customer service while working collaboratively,” said Bonfigli. “The Sexy brand is all about a wholesome and healthy expression of style. It’s our way of bringing back ambiance and romance to flying privately.”
Metropolitan Aviation is based at Manassas Airport, 20 minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport in the USA. “Sexyjet is receiving an enthusiastic response from the charter community already,” said Alan Cook, owner and CEO at Metropolitan Aviation. “We anticipate that charter consumers all over the globe will gravitate toward this innovative design and fresh approach to charter when they see this aircraft on the ramp.”
