Satcom Direct’s GlobalVT app, which enables passengers to use their number on their smartphone, in flight, anywhere in the world, is now available for Android devices. The mobile app is powered by the Satcom Direct Router (SDR).
“Satcom Direct is the first to enable Android users to make and receive calls and texts in the air, worldwide, with their own number,” said Jim Jensen, founder and CEO of Satcom Direct. “Offering this kind of seamless connectivity is all part of our commitment to delivering the solutions that flight departments need.”
As well as interfacing with current networks, the SDR is designed to work with future networks including Ka, Ku and L-Band, and other new networks in development. The GlobalVT mobile app is available on Google Play and in the App Store.
