Bombardier is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the entry into service of the Global 5000. The first of the type was delivered on April 18, 2005. There are now 180 Global 5000 aircraft in service, which have accumulated more than 300,000 flight hours and achieved 140,000 landings.
Continuous improvements to the platform have included increasing range to 5,200 nautical miles, launching the Bombardier Vision flight deck and receiving steep approach certification from the FAA and EASA. In 2016, the Global 5000 is set to offer Ka-band inflight connectivity service.
“We are continually improving on the proven and reliable Global 5000 aircraft to make it even better,” said Paul Sislian, vice president and general manager, global programs, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “I am very proud of the track record of the Global 5000 business jets, and I look forward to another decade of historic performances, dependable reliability and unwavering focus on customer satisfaction.”
