A client in the Middle East has entrusted Jet Aviation Basel of Switzerland with the VIP interior completion of a BBJ 3. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery to the company in the first quarter of 2016. It is the company’s 27th Boeing completion contract.
The engineering, interior component production, cabin installation, flight tests and certification will take place in Basel, and the aircraft is intended for both private and commercial operation, seating up to 45 passengers privately and 19 on commercial flights. Jet Aviation Basel intends to gain European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for the aircraft.
Designed by Jet Aviation Basel’s Design Studio, the interior of the BBJ 3 will feature a forward galley and crew area, a majlis (seating area), a master bedroom with a customized master bathroom and shower, a cinema lounge and a dining area for six. It will also feature a business-class section, an economy-class seating area and an aft galley. The aircraft will be equipped with the latest generation of satellite communications and connectivity, including an iridium satellite communication system and satellite TV.
“With their experience, knowledge, creativity and professionalism, Jet Aviation immediately won the confidence of all stakeholders in this project,” said Luc Duncan, customer representative and president of Nexus Aviation.
“The design of this stunning aircraft interior is perfectly suited to the client,” said Neil Boyle, vice president and general manager of the Jet Aviation Basel Completions Center.
“Our design, engineering and production teams are very excited to demonstrate their skills at breathing life into the customer’s vision. We’re also all looking forward to collaborating once again with Nexus Aviation. Nexus Aviation enjoys a great reputation in this business because, like us, they understand the completions process and are wholly committed to service excellence.”
