Custom Control Concepts (CCC) has received Hollywood studio digital rights approval (DRM) approval for its AVOD IFE system. As part of that approval, CCC-equipped VIP aircraft will be able to show early-window content – movies that have not yet been released to the general public.
CCC’s AVOD system offers high-definition IFE content which can be viewed on bulkhead monitors, in-seat displays and on wireless devices via a special CCC application. AVOD systems with DRM features will be available in late 2015 for new installations, and for retrofitting to existing CCC customers in the first quarter of 2016.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer this exciting new feature to new and existing customers,” said Bill Weaver, CEO of CCC. “The studio approvals and the work being done by our software engineers ensure that our customers have access to the very latest content.”
