Jet Aviation has appointed Gary Dempsey (pictured left) to the newly created position of senior vice president for customer care worldwide. Dave Paddock (pictured below) will succeed Dempsey as the head of US Aircraft Services as senior vice president and general manager. Both appointments are effective January 2015.
As senior vice president and general manager of US Aircraft Services, Paddock is responsible for managing the company’s US aircraft management and charter, FBO and staffing lines of business. Paddock will continue to oversee Jet Aviation’s Group Business Development & Strategic Planning organization, where he has served as senior vice president since joining the company in January 2007.
As senior vice president for customer care worldwide, Dempsey is responsible for providing strategic direction in bettering the customer experience. Dempsey is tasked with identifying opportunities to introduce customers across the Jet Aviation network and measuring ongoing customer service initiatives and improvements. He will also serve as a liaison with government organizations and represent Jet Aviation with trade associations such as NBAA and NATA.
“Based on feedback received at various customer advisory board meetings in the USA and EMEA and Asia in recent years, we saw a clear need to create this new global client relations position,” said Rob Smith, Jet Aviation Group’s president. “Gary has been with Jet Aviation for more than 10 years, understands our client base and has earned their respect. He was the obvious choice for this new position. I am also pleased that Dave will be taking on additional management and operational responsibilities. Dave is highly committed and customer-focused and I am confident he will successfully lead the company as we continue to grow the business in the Americas.”
Dempsey is a licensed A&P mechanic with FAA inspection authorization, as well as a multi-engine pilot with instrument rating. He joined Jet Aviation in June 2003 from General Dynamics Aviation Services, where he held the position of vice president of operations. In March 2014, Dempsey was named as chair of the NATA board of directors. Paddock previously worked for SH&E, where he held the position of vice president and managing officer, specializing in business aviation strategy, market analysis and planning. He has 20 years of aviation experience and is active with many industry organizations including GAMA, MEBAA and The Wings Club.
