Gulfstream’s Beijing Capital International Airport service center will add 10 technicians and inspectors for an additional shift from 3:30pm to midnight, Monday through Friday.
In addition, it plans to seek approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China to carry out a number of other maintenance and inspection procedures to further improve the support it can offer operators in Greater China. It is aiming to be able to carry out 36-month heavy maintenance inspections for the G650 and G650ER soon, with approval for 96-month inspections for the G550 and G450, 72-month inspections for the G280 and 144-month inspections for the G200 to follow later in 2018.
“The additional shift at Gulfstream Beijing ensures that our customers receive the best support possible while traveling to or within China,” said Derek Zimmerman, president of Gulfstream Product Support. “Adding scheduled heavy maintenance inspections is part of our plan for the region as our aircraft there mature. These additions reflect our long-term strategy for ensuring our customers receive high-quality service, regardless of location.”
Gulfstream Beijing recently celebrated five years of operations. The facility, which opened in November 2012, is a joint venture between Gulfstream and HNA Technic. Gulfstream Beijing technicians have supported more than 850 maintenance events, including road trips, to assist customers in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.
