An important milestone has been reached in the ACJ neo program with the entry of the first ACJ320neo into the final assembly process. The work is being performed in Hamburg, Germany. The first ACJ320neo is due for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2018 – to Acropolis Aviation of the UK. A second is headed to Comlux of Switzerland.
Nine ACJ320neo family aircraft are currently on order – including three ACJ319neo and six ACJ320neo aircraft.
The A320neo family is already in service with airlines – more than 300 have been delivered. Like their airliner cousins, the ACJ320neo family have new-generation engines and Sharklets, which Airbus says saves around 15% in fuel and delivers a leap forward in range.
Unlike the airline versions, the ACJ320neo family has a cargo hold that is reinforced to carry additional center tanks (ACTs) for intercontinental range, built-in airstairs for airport autonomy, and a lower cabin altitude.
The ACJ320neo has a range of 6,000 nautical miles or 13 hours with 25 passengers, while the ACJ319neo can fly eight passengers 6,700 nautical miles or 15 hours.
