GDC Technics has announced two separate head-of-state completion contracts, consisting of four wide-body aircraft in total.
“Securing these aircraft programs has confirmed the confidence this industry has in GDC Technics,” said Mohammed Alzeer, GDC Technics general partner. “With the diversification of our capabilities, GDC has laid the groundwork to lead this industry in next-generation aircraft modifications. We have the resources, knowledge and capacity to take on many projects of this magnitude and more.”
The revised company strategy announced at EBACE 2014 focused on modifications, turnkey engineering and customer support to accommodate growing market needs and to invest in R&D with the aim of improving the operational capabilities of their client’s aircraft.
This investment strategy has already started to bear fruit for GDC clients: Early in 2018 GDC was able, using the results of its in-house R&D, to complete a head-of-state interior that it believes is 20% lighter than industry estimates.
Meanwhile, in 2017, external penetrations were accomplished on the composite airframe of multiple B787s, including a Ka-band, satcom, live television and more for ultimate connectivity. Multiple maintenance projects were also completed by GDC in 2017.
This year GDC is set to deliver three wide-body head-of-state aircraft.
