In a milestone for the ACJ TwoTwenty programme, the first section of the aircraft β the mid-fuselage β has arrived at the A220 final assembly line (FAL) in Mirabel, Canada.
This arrival marks the start of the first Airbus corporate jet assembly to take place in Canada.
The ACJ TwoTwenty is based on the A220-100 platform and is designed for business aviation operations. The offering includes a flexible cabin catalogue.
The ACJ TwoTwenty was launched in late 2020 and has already won orders totalling six aircraft. Comlux will be the first to take delivery of the aircraft, scheduled for winter 2021, and will be the exclusive outfitter for the first 15 aircraft.
The cabin has 73mΒ² (785ftΒ²) of floorspace and features six wide VIP living areas for up to 19 passengers. The aircraft will have intercontinental range, capable of flying up to 5,650 nautical miles (10,500km), over 12 flight hours.
Airbus Corporate Jets said the aircraft was priced just under ultra-long-range business jets and would excel in terms of comfort, range, economics and operational availability.
