Gulfstream recently reached a milestone with the delivery of a G650 to a customer in the Middle East – it was the 200th aircraft of the G650 family (which includes the G650 and the G650ER) to be delivered.
The G650 was announced in March 2008 and certified by the FAA in September 2012. It can travel 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and 6,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90. In May 2014, Gulfstream announced the G650ER, which extends the range of its sister ship to 7,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nautical miles at Mach 0.90. The aircraft received FAA certification in October 2014 and entered service a month later.
The G650 is certified in 24 countries and the G650ER in 14. “The G650 and G650ER are our top-selling models with a backlog that extends into 2018,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, worldwide sales, Gulfstream.
The company also recently made the 100th customer delivery of its super-mid-size G280 aircraft. It will be based in the USA.
The G280 entered service on November 14, 2012. It has a range of 3,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.80. The cabin includes a Gulfstream-designed CMS and HD IFE system, 19 windows and inflight access to the baggage compartment. Standard features include cabin soundproofing and a galley sink.
