Toby Neugebauer of Houston, Texas, will be the first recipient of Nextant Aerospace’s remanufactured aircraft, the 604XT. The aircraft is a remanufactured Challenger 604 with Rockwell Collins’s Pro Line Fusion cockpit. It was launched in May 2017. The customer has chosen the standard configuration, which addresses ADS-B Out requirements.
“The plane offers an exceptional combination of cabin comfort, performance and operating economics,” said Neugebauer. “Now, with the introduction of the 604XT upgrade, Nextant has solved the pending regulatory and obsolescence issues that were facing much of the original cockpit technology.
“This solution is perfect for my needs. By allowing me to access the latest in forward-fit avionics technology, they have created a solution that offers an overwhelming value proposition, which in my mind is a no-brainer.”
“The entire program has been extremely well received and we are expecting market penetration rates north of 75% relative to the total in-service fleet, which should make this one of the most successful remanufacturing programs ever,” said Jay Heublein, a Nextant executive.
FAA and EASA certification is expected in June 2018.
