Bombardier’s new light jet, the Learjet 75 Liberty, has entered service with Alex Lyon & Son, a privately held auctioneering company and long-time Learjet operator that has offices and conducts business in the USA, Canada, Mexico and South America. Bombardier unveiled the Learjet 75 Liberty in July 2019.
“The Learjet 75 Liberty is a value-added business tool for those seeking a safer and more efficient travel option,” said Peter Likoray, senior vice president of sales and marketing, new aircraft, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “This achievement would not have been possible without our highly skilled team members in Wichita, who are incredibly proud to be delivering the best Learjet yet.”
Bombardier announced the entry into service in a week that also saw it hold its first-ever virtual customer event, from 5-8 October 2020. The aim of the event was to guide customers through personalised visits of Bombardier’s business jets, showcasing digital tools developed specifically to help customers interact with the portfolio.
The Learjet 75 Liberty’s six-seat configuration features an executive suite, where passengers have nearly 3ft (89cm) of legroom. The light jet is also available in an eight-seat configuration. The OEM has incorporated a standard pocket door behind the cockpit to deliver quietness, and emphasises flight smoothness as a standout feature. The aircraft has a flat floor and is certified to FAA Part 25 regulations, which are applicable to commercial airliners. It has a range of 2,080 nautical miles (3,852km).
“Over the past 20 years, Learjet aircraft and Bombardier’s support teams have given me a 99.9% dispatch reliability rate,” said Jack Lyon, president and CEO of Alex Lyon & Son. “And thanks to the speed of a Learjet, a late departure doesn’t prevent us from arriving on time, which has helped me run my business more efficiently. We appreciate the speed, range and reliability of these aircraft, and we’re proud to become the owners of the first Learjet 75 Liberty.”
The Learjet 75 Liberty was featured in the October 2019 issue of Business Jet Interiors International, which you can read by clicking here.
