As it proceeds with the development of the S-512 supersonic business jet, Spike Aerospace has enlisted Tom Captain to act as executive advisor.
Captain has nearly four decades of experience in the aerospace, space and defense industries, advising on everything from product development to manufacturing, supply chain issues, finance, acquisition, litigation, cost efficiency and business development.
Captain previously served as Deloitte’s vice chairman, leading its aerospace and defense practice. Career highlights include testifying at the Congressional Aviation Subcommittee on a Deloitte study, Transforming the Air Transportation System, and at the Senate Banking Committee on Export-Import Bank reauthorization and impact on the space industry.
He has also contributed his expertise many times at industry conferences, in print and online media, on television and on the radio, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
“Having Tom Captain’s experience, connections and knowledge of the industry is going to be invaluable in helping Spike achieve its vision of advancing aviation with supersonic flight,” said Vik Kachoria, president and CEO at Spike Aerospace. “We are looking forward to his insights.”
Spike says the S-512 will accommodate 12-18 passengers and cruise at Mach 1.6, completing a 6,200-nautical mile trip 40% quicker.
