AMAC Aerospace Basel has shared that it is experiencing a bustling period, with more than 30 aircraft undergoing maintenance or completion across its five hangars. Two-thirds of these aircraft are capitalising on the company’s ability to conduct cabin or system repairs, upgrades or modifications simultaneously alongside scheduled maintenance.
The company said its internal Part 21-J design organisation and Part 21-G production organisation shops are always available to support Part 145 maintenance customers.
In May, the Basel facility had five slots dedicated for wide-body maintenance. These projects include an A747-8 in for an annual maintenance check and inspection, including a C-Check; a head-of-state A330-200 in for a 24/48-month last out-of-phase Check, addressing several cabin items during the layover; a private A330-200 undergoing a heavy C-Check with structural repairs; a landing-gear change for a head-of-state A330-200; and the continuation of a VVIP A350 completion project.
AMAC Aerospace has also been awarded a contract to perform a landing-gear replacement on a head-of-state Boeing 777-300ER, scheduled for June. This aircraft, featuring an AMAC VVIP cabin, has recently undergone a refurbishment for one of many returning customers, frequently serviced in AMAC’s hangars, the company noted. The project is scheduled to have a downtime of two weeks.
