AMAC Aerospace in Bodrum, Turkey, has been awarded a project involving end-of-lease inspections for seven narrow-body Airbus aircraft.
The programme is set to commence in July 2024 and will keep the team engaged for the next 12 months. The project involves three aircraft staggered with this client, ensuring a continuous workflow over the period. The aircraft in question are of the A320-214 type, powered by CFM56-5B engines.
The programme encompasses seven redelivery-to-lessor projects, each including exterior paint work. The detailed workscope includes comprehensive inspections and maintenance checks, such as 12-year, 6-year, 2-year, 1C, 2C, 3C, and A-checks.
Key elements of the redelivery workscope include engine removal for thorough inspections; wet area inspections to ensure the integrity of critical zones; full cabin removal and reinstallation for restoration and inspection purposes; and detailed cargo inspections. The workscope also includes the application of requested Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs); necessary structural rectifications; component replacements and repair management; borescope and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections; and weighing of the aircraft to ensure balance, performance and certification standards.
The paint scope includes exterior paint stripping from the fuselage, empennage, engine cowls and wings. This process includes the application of corrosion protection and the execution of other essential procedures, followed by repainting the aircraft to a full white colour with standard markings applied.
The facility’s capabilities include handling extensive inspection and maintenance tasks for narrow- and wide-body aircraft in commercial and VVIP configurations.
