JCB Aero, an AMAC Aerospace company, is now operating maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities at a hangar in Auch, France, allowing it to expand its services and capabilities to existing and potential new customers.
The 5,000m² hangar, fully refreshed, can accommodate up to three single-aisle Airbus or Boeing aircraft simultaneously.
The preparation of the hangar started in May 2024. JCB Aero worked with AMAC Aerospace Switzerland to be ready in September 2024. The hangar welcomed the first aircraft in early October 2024.
“The launch of the MRO activities is a major step in the development of JCB Aero,” said Frédéric Dezauzier, JCB Aero’s chief operating officer. “JCB Aero being part of AMAC Group, is offering to customers some additional capacities for the maintenance of their aircraft.
“One of the core business activities of JCB Aero is high-end cabin design and production,” continued Dezauzier. “Customers will find the perfect place for cabin refurbishment while the maintenance of their aircraft is happening, here in Auch.”
Dezauzier also said the proximity to Airbus in Toulouse was a strong advantage.
A new maintenance team has been recruited to support MRO activities at Auch. Further recruitment is underway to be able to provide a team of between 20 and 30 employees, additionally. The hangar has also been equipped with new tool stores, offices for staff and external offices for client representatives.
