Ametek’s Secondary Power Distribution Units (SPDUs) and AC Power Distribution Units (PDUs) from Ametek have been selected by GDC Technics for a VVIP BBJ787 conversion project.
The off-the-shelf SPDU distributes 288A at 28VDC power to as many as 54 electrical loads, providing circuit and wiring protection. It is designed to save weight, space and money by reducing the number of wires, circuit breakers and utility boxes.
Other features of the SPDU include arc-fault detection, pulse width modulation, remote load power control, load power monitoring, automated load shedding and prognostic and diagnostic maintenance. All these features can be used in multiple applications/aircraft without changes to software or hardware.
