Ruag Aviation has opened a showroom dedicated to cabin interiors at its facility in Munich, Germany. The site incorporates a materials selection center, showcasing a range of materials and finishes, as well as cabin accessories.
“A business aircraft is like a calling card; therefore, it is important that it projects the right image,” said André Ebach, general manager, business jets, Ruag Aviation. “Materials and finishes are essential to this, as well as to the ambiance of an aircraft cabin. However, with so many possibilities out there, the task of choosing an exclusive and personal design for an aircraft interior can often be overwhelming. Our materials selection center allows customers to view, touch and feel an extensive range of materials.”
Every customer has a dedicated Ruag Aviation cabin design specialist to work with. “The new showroom makes it easier for customers to be at the center of the creative process,” said Robin Freigang, director of cabin interior services and design, Ruag Aviation. “Individual consultation is an essential part of that. Customers benefit because we better understand their needs, but our team also learns from the customer: their choices and ideas serve as inspiration for future innovation.”
Ruag Aviation says customers should have ample opportunity to see and experiment with a variety of concepts. This is why the new showroom includes visualization technology, allowing customers to virtually apply potential designs to their aircraft. “Thanks to our new showroom, customers can compile various material combinations and coordinate the effect they have on one another, rather than selecting individual materials one step at a time,” said Freigang. “This provides a much better idea of the overall design, allowing us to then tailor it to individual wishes.”
Ruag Aviation’s business aircraft sector in Munich has been focusing primarily on cabin retrofit, system upgrades and complete cabin refurbishment since 2011.
