Comlux is to cooperate with Texel Air to provide MRO line maintenance, cabin upgrade and refurbishment services for narrow-body ACJ and BBJ aircraft in Bahrain. Texel Air will provide hangar, maintenance and certification services at its 3,200m² facility at Bahrain International Airport, while Comlux will take care of system upgrades and cabin modification services. It intends to hire highly skilled local craftsmen and engineers, managed and assisted by onsite Comlux America experts.
Texel Air, which already has Bahraini Part 145 approval, is targeting EASA Part 145 approval by the Q3 2016. In 2015, Comlux America was granted warranty and repair facility approval by Boeing Business Jets and became an ACJ authorized service center.
“We wanted to provide our Middle East customers with a convenient, high-quality and cost-efficient solution to have their VIP cabin changes and upgrades accomplished perfectly on site during their A check ground time,” said Arnaud Martin, executive vice president, Comlux The Aviation Group. “Our strong capabilities and approvals, combined with the ones of Texel Air, demonstrate our continuous focus on maintaining and improving best practices in the industry to protect the resale value of the VIP assets of our customers.”
“We are delighted to be expanding our capabilities and bringing new business and employment opportunities to Bahrain,” said Fraser Currie, CEO, Texel Air. “This opportunity continues to demonstrate our commitment to bringing world-class services to the region.”
