Comlux Completion of Indianapolis, Indiana, has delivered a Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ) fitted with a custom, EASA-certified corporate cabin, following a 12-month completion. There are 19 seats certified for taxi, take-off and landing. The aircraft includes a forward VIP area with a club four and side-facing divan, followed by an executive zone with 15 first-class seats in a 2-1 layout.
The contemporary interior was designed and engineered by Comlux for client Kazakhmys of Kazakhstan. The aircraft will be operated by Comlux KZ. The company says this is the first SBJ to enter the charter market.
“The SBJ has been delivered on quality and on time and as per the highest standard of the industry,” said Eduard Ogay, CEO of Kazakhmys. “The addition of the SBJ to our corporate fleet successfully operated by Comlux KZ allows a large number of our company executives and employees to travel all together efficiently and in full comfort. It is the right business tool for our company.”
“This SBJ is the first of its type to be outfitted in corporate configuration and certified by EASA,” said Scott Meyer, CEO, Comlux Completion. “This made it especially challenging given the completion operations in the USA, for an aircraft without FAA TC, showcasing once again how Comlux can adapt and find solutions in any environment to best serve our customers.
“The Comlux team has performed an outstanding job on the aircraft interior, including flight testing and certification under full EASA oversight. Thanks to our Cabin Innovation and Research Center, we have demonstrated our ability to complete new aircraft type interiors beyond ACJs and BBJs.”
