Duncan Aviation recently completed an extensive interior refurbishment on a Falcon 900B at its facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. The modern interior has a neutral colour palette with rich brown accents.
When envisioning the new interior, the owner sought a more contemporary aesthetic, while retaining a soft and welcoming feeling. The refurbishment touched nearly every aspect of the interior, with the exception of plating. Key updates involved the installation of new drinkrails and PSU overlay panels. The drinkrails and cabinetry feature a new neutral brown veneer finish. Fabric elements were added to the mid-cabin bulkhead.
“This aircraft stands as a testament to Duncan Aviation’s craftsmanship and commitment to delivering top-tier customisation,” said designer Jilli Sitkiewicz. “The result is an aircraft interior that is not only modern and stylish but also inviting and comfortable.”

The project also included extensive avionics upgrades and a 2C inspection. The owner opted to upgrade to the Universal Avionics InSight Flight Display System, replacing the CRT equipment with displays that provide 3D graphics for the Synthetic Vision System (SVS), weather, terrain and traffic systems.
“The new Universal InSight is a fantastic option for customers with aging avionics and no path for future enhancements,” said Jeff Simmons, senior avionics sales rep. “This upgrade gives 30+ year-old aircraft a flight deck that incorporates the latest safety features and capabilities found on new production aircraft.”
Upgrading to the Universal Avionics InSight retained the NZ-2000 Flight Management System and also created a pathway for future enhancement for NextGen and Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) systems. Duncan Aviation said the flight deck also removed more than 250 lbs of obsolete avionics equipment and wires from the nose of the aircraft.
The owner also opted to install a new Alto Aviation Cadence cabin management system (CMS), providing streamlined controls in the cabin. The Cadence CMS includes a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port, Bluetooth interface, and accessible USB charging ports.
“Although seen for its entertainment features, a CMS is truly that – a cabin management system,” said Simmons. “It controls all of your cabin functionality from the galley to the lav, while also offering control of the entertainment. Alto Cadence allows customers to upgrade from their non-supported CMS to a cost-effective solution that keeps operation simple and stylish.”
Duncan Aviation previously completed an InSight flight deck retrofit upgrade in a Citation VII, and says there are now 10 Citation VII aircraft operating with the upgraded InSight suite. The company added there are eight Falcon 900Bs flying with InSight with three more currently in the process of being upgraded.
