Lufthansa Technik has signed its first Boeing 787-8 VIP cabin completion contract, with work scheduled to start in 2018.
The custom cabin will include a private area with a bedroom, bathroom and representative office; a dining and conference area in the mid-section; and various classes of delegation seating at the rear.
“With the conclusion of this completion contract, we are closing the final gap in our expertise for the Boeing 787,” said Wieland Timm, senior director of sales for VIP and special-mission aircraft at Lufthansa Technik.
“Our existing experience for this type of aircraft in the fields of modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul is a valuable basis for the equipment of this special VIP aircraft.”
More than 100 commercial and VIP Boeing 787 aircraft have already been entrusted to Lufthansa Technik for technical services.
