Greenpoint Technologies has obtained a patent for its Aeroloft product, which provides a rest area away from the main deck during flight. It features a customized stairway leading to eight private sleeping berths and an optional changing room with a closet. It is located above the main deck, between doors four and five of BBJ 747-8 aircraft.
Greenpoint has sold five Aeroloft products to date, with four shipsets delivered thus far. The Aeroloft is built in-house at Greenpoint’s structures manufacturing facility in Marysville, Washington.
“This is a milestone achievement for Greenpoint, following nearly 10 years of development, production, installations and testing,” said Bret Neely, executive vice president at Greenpoint. “The Aeroloft truly is an efficient use of space on any BBJ 747-8 aircraft. It is an excellent example of Greenpoint’s collaboration with an OEM to design an innovative solution for our joint clientele.”
