RUAG Aviation has reached a milestone – it has enjoyed EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (DOA) status for five years. The DOA enables the company to classify changes as major and minor; develop major changes, repairs and STCs; and develop and approve minor modifications and minor repairs. RUAG Aviation has also been granted new terms of approval, with second scope expansion for operational suitability data.
“Our customers’ creative ideas are our priority. These can include completely new aircraft interior comfort solutions, or a cockpit upgrade. They may also choose to streamline IFE systems or to enhance existing avionics with proven packages,” said Bas Gouverneur, general manager, engineering, RUAG Aviation. “We are pleased to have confirmed our DOA certification with EASA, year after year, and are keen to serve our customers with the full spectrum of engineering and DOA capabilities.”
RUAG Aviation’s in-house project management support encompasses viability assessment, initial requirement definition, design, manufacturing, integration, verification and certification.
EASA Part 21J DOA organizations are audited on a regular basis. Engineering organizations must also continuously review, edit and submit the Design Organisation Handbook.
