NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) has tasked Spirit Aeronautics with the modernization of a Dassault model HU-25A research aircraft.
“We are once again honored to be selected by NASA to complete another modernization project on their aircraft,” said Tony Bailey, president and COO of Spirit Aeronautics. “Because of the mission profiles flown by the HU-25A aircraft, it takes advanced technical knowledge and diligent project management to complete the upgrades that we have, without exception. In fact, our expertise and technical abilities were selected as the “best value” for the government, which we are very proud of. It is a great accomplishment and a great privilege to once again serve NASA.”
The Dassault HU-25A Guardian is based on the Dassault Fanjet Falcon Series G (FA-20G) operated by NASA LaRC, with a requirement to operate in international airspace. As such, Spirit Aeronautics will perform RVSM, TCAS-II and ADS-B upgrades that allow the aircraft to operate in Canada, Europe and Australia as well as the USA.
