FliteTrak is in the running for the 2018 Crystal Cabin Awards with its ViatorAero intelligent remote monitoring technology for passenger seating on airlines.
ViatorAero monitors individual seats for temperature, movement, seatbelt closure and mobile phone activation, and sends the data collected in real time to flight attendants’ tablets or onboard ICT systems via an NLDT algorithm.
The system can also monitor and lock overhead storage bins and analyze cabin air quality for elements such as smoke, ozone, hydrogen, CO₂ and harmful chemicals and gases.
The intelligent remote monitoring technology also sends alerts to flag up issues, logs data for analysis and provides efficiency savings through predictive maintenance. FliteTrak will present the technology to the Crystal Cabin Awards judging panel in April prior to the final voting, with results due to be announced at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, in April.
Joint managing director of FliteTrak Andrew Barnett (pictured above) said, “Crystal Cabin is the most prestigious international award for excellence in aircraft interiors. Being shortlisted is a tremendous start to what promises to be a very exciting year for FliteTrak and we are keeping our fingers crossed for the final judging.”
