The STAG Group has dramatically cut lead times for cabin interior bulkheads from eight weeks to next day delivery for standard products and under two weeks for bespoke bulkheads with customer trim. The initiative enables MRO companies to rapidly replace bulkheads either on a like-for-like basis or improve their appearance and functionality with bespoke livery and enhanced features all within tight TATs.
STAG’s investment is in response to long lead times provided by the industry for cabin interior components, which cause problems for companies carrying out quick turnaround MRO activity. The business has used its cabin interior components expertise to offer an enhanced product with options stocked to support the baseline bulkhead in short lead-times.
“As part of a market review we looked at a large number of bulkhead designs from the major airlines, and the results have led to the introduction of an innovative design of generic bulkhead with selectable options including monitors, bassinet seat fittings, escape path lighting tubes, posy vases and tie backs,” said Rick Crosby, unit director for the STAG Group.
“To reduce the lead-time of these products we have put a number of bulkheads into stock for next day delivery which can be supplied certified and shipped direct to your facility. Full Race Print branding can also be used on the bulkheads.”
Race Print is a process that penetrates the plastic by up to 0.25mm giving a tamperproof and easy-to-clean surface. Green bulkheads can be supplied with design data and test samples at LOPA level for approval. Bulkhead stock will be available from Q3 2015.
