An FAA STC has been awarded to West Star Aviation to enable the installation of a multifunctional digital clock/USB charger on Falcon 50 aircraft. The company says the Mid-Continent MD93 series solution saves panel space by combining a multifunctional digital clock with dual USB charging ports.
“The MD93 delivers accurate timekeeping functions as well as USB charging ports for both standard and high-power devices that are common today,” said Marty Rhine, vice president of sales at West Star Aviation. “While seemingly simple, these units are functional, reliable and provide true value and utility to the operator. So much so, we anticipate moving into DER approvals for other aircraft soon.”
The 2in (5cm) unit fits a standard panel cutout and provides both 12-hour and 24-hour formats of local time, universal time, flight timer, countdown and stopwatch functions on the clock. Each USB port provides 2.1A for charging/powering use.
